Undutchables in co-operation with Berlitz Language
Dutch is, as you may know from experience, not essential in order to survive in the multi-cultural & multi-lingual Netherlands. However you may feel left out when, after a few months or even years of living here, you are still not able to speak sufficient Dutch to order a sandwich or hold a simple conversation with your Dutch friends or colleagues.
Help is now at hand in the form of an easily accessible, fast and effective language course that teaches you Dutch wherever you are located in the Netherlands. Together with Berlitz we have come up with a unique package that allows you to study Dutch in the comfort of your own home together with a small group of other students or alone with a teacher live over the Internet.
This is how it works :
At a pre-set time and date you will log onto the BVC (Berlitz Virtual Classroom) website with your login code and join a group of up to 6 participants for your weekly Dutch lessons. All you require is a headset and microphone and you're off learning Dutch and making new friends using cutting edge technology. Lessons can be recorded and replayed later. The course runs for 10 weeks and each session lasts 2,25 hrs. You can use the Berlitz book which has been specially developed by Berlitz linguistic experts to perfectly support Berlitz proven method.
Courses will start when we have enough participants (between 1-6). Times and dates will be determined by the availability of all participants and the BVC teacher. You will receive a certificate and progress report on successful completion of the programme.

The Berlitz Method® is a skill-based approach designed to teach you a new language the same way you have learned your mother tongue – naturally, through conversation. It allows you to acquire vocabulary and grammar in their proper context – whilst hearing and speaking only in the language you are studying.

- headset comprising a microphone and headphones
- reliable Internet connection
- Windows 98, 200, XP or VISTA
- Intel Pentium, 330 MHz, 64 MB RAM
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x. or 6.x.
How do I sign up ?
- Please complete the guest profile (below) to the best of your knowledge and send it to planning@berlitz.nl
- We will put you on a waiting list and contact you as soon as we have enough participants to start
- If you need to be tested we will organise free-of-charge telephone tests.
- An orientation session during which the software required to run the BVC is installed is organised by the BVC team. You will receive a thorough briefing on all aspects of the Berlitz Virtual Classroom
- You will be sent a schedule and are expected to log in at a pre-set time and date. You are ready to begin!
Conditions
- The full course amount has to be paid to Berlitz prior starting the course.
- Once you have started your lessons you cannot cancel, postpone or change lessons.
Prices (based on 6 participants) per participant : 10 weeks, 2,25 hrs per session : € 356,50
We will aim to form groups of up to 6 students of the same starting level. If, however we are unable to find enough participants and you have been on the waiting list for 4 weeks we would like to offer you the opportunity to get started. Please clearly mark on your guest profile whether you would be prepared to pay more and study in smaller groups or alone which of course has the added advantage of allowing you to progress faster and learn more.
