It brings with it unique strengths and can complement well the weaknesses. Another advantage of the diversity is the opportunity for employees' personal growth. Being exposed to new ideas, cultures and perspectives can help the team to reach out intellectually and gain a clearer view of their surroundings and their place in the world. Having international people from different backgrounds and experiences can inspire more creative ideas and methods of solving problems.

    Being an International, what added value do you bring to your company?

    Due to my international background I’ve been exposed to many different working cultures, different working methods and many different situations that I would have not experienced if I stayed in my home country. I strongly believe this exposure is the added value I bring to the company because thanks to the experiences I’ve had, I’m quicker and more flexible when it comes to reacting to changes or when it comes to fit into new roles/responsibilities. I believe companies appreciate this “edge” I bring with me and leverage it to achieve their goals.

    Having culturally mixed teams allows the company to ‘think outside the box’. With culturally mixed teams there is a higher chance to find a solution or come up with an innovative, never-seen-before strategy that’s not the typical standard approach.

    Additionally, I believe culturally mixed teams allow a company to be aware of market-specific challenges and opportunities. Both these elements are key factors that allow a company to create separation from and have the advantage over competitors.

    Well, in my daily job I deal with people who don’t speak any other language apart from their native one. So then it is quite easy – since we speak the same language!

    I believe that the reason or idea behind hiring an international employee is that apart from the professional experience she or he will bring also a cultural diversity. The last one is especially highly needed and appreciated by international companies operating in various countries.  So when it comes to cultural differences it might be quite handy to have a team member who can explain or in worst case scenario – resolve an issue.

    I’m working for Fluke since 2007, and in my department we have a massive presence of International personnel, this is an added value to our company, because it brings a broad overview of the business, different mentality and flexibility aside from the language skills.

    I think that I can look after clients in my language and this is always better for a company. The customer will feel better cared for.

    In our company we supported all Europe and therefore it is important to have many languages. In one such-mixed team you learn a lot of different cultures and thus we learn more about the big world. For me the best experience I could make.

    I believe I add additional value to my company through my background in shipping/logistics as well as my awareness on how to deal with German and International business partners. I understand the German preciseness and punctuality and German regulations in shipping.

    Moreover, I have discovered after working many years in my field, I can make a difference in my team by creating an environment of team spirit, encouraging each other in tuff times and continuously enjoy my job.
